A vast majority of roof repair insurance claims are settled with roofing contractor assistance. The reason for this is insurance assigned adjusters often not only underestimate jobs but just don’t see the full scope of damage that exists. For this reason, it benefits the homeowner for the contractor to give an actual estimate for the necessary work to be completed. More times then not, the contractor’s numbers will be higher then the amount the insurance company initially paid out. If this is the case, we make a request for additional monies on the homeowner’s behalf which is called a supplement. That great thing about supplemental request is that they are rarely depreciated. This means you get the total dollar amount to take care of the additional work required in one check, instead of one check up front and a second check once the work is completed.
